El Houssine Bouyakhf Received the Engineer degree from Sup'Aéro (ENSAE) National Higher School of Aeronautics and Space, Toulouse, France in 1976, he received the Doctor Engineer degree in Pattern recognition and Artificial Intelligence from University Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France in 1980 and “Doctorat d'Etat” in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence from LAAS of CNRS and University Paul Sabatier, Toulouse, France in 1988. From 1980 to 1984, he worked as Assistant professor at the Faculty of Sciences, Mohammed V-Agdal University, Rabat, Morocco, teaching courses related to the Computer Sciences field. From 1984 to 1988 he was detached in the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence team, LAAS of CNRS, Toulouse, France. Since 1988, he works as lecturer at the Faculty of Sciences, Rabat, teaching Computer Sciences, Pattern Recognition, Image Processing and Artificial Intelligence courses respectively at undergraduate and graduate levels. His main topics of interest are : Artificial Intelligence, Pattern Recognition , Image Processing and Telecommunications. He worked on Constraint Satisfaction Problem (CSP), Text Categorization and on different tools of image processing such as contour detection, data compression and texture analysis, image indexing and classification. He is currently working, in the Artificial Intelligence field, on Constraint Logical Programming (Reasoning and decision, Interaction, Dialogue and Co-operation Constraint Reasoning, Constraint Propagation Theory and Algorithms, Distributed Problem Solving) ; in the Image Processing field, on fixed and video image processing including aspects of modeling, Indexing, Compression, Knowledge Extraction; and in, the Telecommunication field, on the UMTS Quality of services (QOS), the capacities of cellular networks UMTS multiservices with multi-media applications and the performance of Slotted Aloha under power differentiation schemes. El Houssine BOUYAKHF is the scientific leader of LIMIARF Lab. He supervises several Ph.D theses in the research themes listed before.
