Dr. Ebrahim Abdullah Mattar (nickname as Al-Gallaf) is an Associate Professor of Intelligent Control and Robotics at University of Bahrain. He has received B. Sc. in Electrical Engineering from University of Bahrain in 86, an M.Sc. in Information Technology and Electronics in 89 from the University of Southampton, UK, and in 1994 he received the University of Reading Ph.D. in Cybernetics and Intelligent System Control. Dr. Matter has interests in computational intelligence and robotics, pattern recognition and modeling including clustering with fuzzy, neural networks, evolutionary computation, and their real applications in industrial automation and robotics. Now he is working in Hinf optimal robotics control system, control with neural systems, visual servo system, active vision dexterous hands manipulation, and hybrid systems for uncertainty analysis and robotics modeling. Dr. Matter is a member of the IEEE, member in the IEEE control educational society, and active IET member, IET regional board EMEA RB , and member of some control societies world-wide, and published a number of papers in the area of robotic control, optimal robotic hand forces, neural multi-finger robot hand grasping and control, optimal fuzzy control, and neuro-fuzzy systems, intelligent plants control and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Plant Automation. Dr. Matter has also presented a number of training courses for industry in Bahrain and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the area of Plant Control and Automation.
