Jeffrey J. Rodríguez is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Arizona (since 1990). He received the Ph.D. degree (1990) and B.S. degree (1984) in electrical engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, and the S.M. degree (1986) in electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Recently, he was Co-Director (2003-2008) of Connection One, a National Science Foundation industry / university cooperative research center. His research focus is digital signal and image processing and analysis, with applications in biomedicine, communications, etc. He is a member of the IEEE Technical Committee on Image and Multidimensional Signal Processing (since 2005) and the IEEE Signal Processing Society Conference Board (since 2006). In addition, he was Associate Editor of the IEEE Trans. on Image Processing (1996-2000). He served as General Chair of the 2007 IEEE Intl. Conf. on Image Processing (ICIP), Vice Chair of the 2004 Southwest Symp. on Image Analysis and Interpretation (SSIAI), and has served on numerous other conference organizing committees and IEEE committees
