Penrose Cofie Ph.D received his B.S.E.E degree from the University of Science and Technology, Ghana in 1971, his M.S.E.E. degree from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, in 1983 and the PHD degree from The University of Houston, Texas. He is an instructor of Electrical Engineering at Prairie View A&M University, teaching Power Systems, Power Electronics, Control Systems and Signals and Systems. He was the recipient of several teaching Excellence and Outstanding Teacher Award, including Who’s Who in American Teacher’s Award. He advised students in 1995, 1997 and 2004 on the North American Solar Car Challenge Design competition; an event that brings together students from universities all over North America His field of interest is power and energy, power electronics and drives, and controls and has much industrial experience in these areas. He has several publications and has co-invented a non-intrusive energy meter under US Pat. No. 6824305B1. He is a registered PE in the State of Texas.
