David Wood obtained his B. E. and M.Eng.Sc. degrees in Mechanical Enigneering from Sydney University in 1974 and 1976, and a Ph.D. in Aeronautics from the University of London in 1980. After many years at the University of Newcastle, Australia and in private industry, he became the ENMAX/Schulich Professor of Renewable Energy at the University of Calgary in February 2010. His research interests include small wind turbines, wind resource assessment, and multi-dimensional blade optimization.
